The Solidarity Wave:

Polish Migration to

Australia during the

1980s

About the Research

Polish Migrants in the 1980s arriving to Australia

The project aims to describe and account for the settlement experiences of Polish migrants who arrived to Australia during the 1980s. In particular it hopes to answer the question: How and why did the settlement experiences of the Polish migrants who arrived in the 1980s differ from those who came immediately after World War Two? By participating in this research, Polish migrants of the 1980s will help shed light on shared difficulties and determine what factors impacted on their experiences. The research may assist in future policy decisions regarding migrant services and organizations.
